Hi, brood families My name is Lynn and I am a birth and postpartum doula. I became a doula because I absolutely love caring for people. I have worn many hats throughout my career in tech and switched my career, well three times now, but somehow found myself in the birth world and got completely hooked after having my own baby 18 months ago. Also experienced the opposite side dealing with grief and death. Upon caring for my late grandmother in hospice care, I sort of took the approach of just winging it from my own birth and assumed things would just work in postpartum. And I was super stubborn. I didn't want any help and ended up having a pretty rough postpartum journey. So when I became a doula, not only was I in complete awe of the birthing body, seeing it from the other side, but I know how fast and overwhelming those early newborn days can feel. So I vowed to reassure new parents that they are doing their absolute best and things will get better. Maybe not easier, but better. My caregiving style is focused on the well being of both parents or caregivers, not just baby, because everyone focuses on baby but often forget that new parents need just as much care and attention as their newborn. My approach is also evidence based because I love research and data. As a techie and nonjudgmental and Empathetic, I also tend to encourage that things remain flexible to help with the transition into new parenthood. My expertise is telling it like it is in a gentle, loving way, of course to help simplify the information overload that comes with pregnancy, birth and newborn care. And I'm also a childbirth educator and certified Child Passenger Safety Technician or car seat tech. So I love taking the time in prenatals to talk about labor coping measures, all things baby safety, car seat checks, lactation or infants feeding support. And if you're interested in traditional Chinese medicine, I can also provide some suggestions on incorporating Chinese postpartum healing herbs to incorporate it into your diet. I am so excited for the opportunity to support you and your family through Brood and I look forward to being a part of your birth or postpartum journey. Hi. Lizzie here. We're so glad that you're part of our brood and that there's so many families who are curious to get to know you and a little bit about your story. We're using video in a creative way so families can see you, hear your voice, hear a little bit about your story, and understand if tour a good fit to jive. Jill's going to help you a little bit more with your setup and we're going to share a few questions for you to practice and think about when creating a really short, casual video to share with folks. Getting Set Up

Jill. Here some quick ways to get set up. Grab your phone or your laptop with a video camera in it. Set it up somehow. Maybe you've got a stand or on a stack of books. You're going to find a natural source of light, like a window. Or if you're like me, you have one of those fancy ring lights. And then click record when you're ready. That's it.

You. So you're all ready to record. Your space is lit. You're looking great. Everything is calm and quiet. Now take out a pen and paper or a postit note, and you're going to think about these three prompts that you'll answer in your short video. The first is I became a doula because I became a doula because the the second is my caregiving style is my caregiving style is and the last my expertise is my expertise is we've created these three prompts, so you can share, pieces that you've studied, elements that you like to apply in your care work to families and anything that feels relevant and true to you. Anything that you would share in person. Make sure that you start all the prompts like you would in a conversation. My caregiving style is based on my cancer sign, I am a water sign. Blah, blah, blah. Whatever feels good to you. And our videos are under three minutes, so keep looking at a timer and keep talking and finish when you're ready to go. Good luck.
